BEDFORD — Nick Baum carded a 75 to top teammate Griffin Snowberger by a single stroke to win the individual championship at the Omni Bedford Springs High School Golf Invitational on Tuesday.

Baum, Snowberger and Zach Oakes’ eighth-place score of 85 helped Central win the team championship, 236-242, over runner-up Altoona.

The Mountain Lions were led by third-place finisher Kreighoff Cumming, who carded a 78.

Isaac Miller led third-place Hollidaysburg with an 81 and finished fifth.

Landon Baker and Will Sankey each shot 82 for Altoona, and Troy Allen and Keagan Hockey each shot 87 for the Golden Tigers.

Josh Topper was Bedford’s top finisher in fourth place with an 80, and Brody Kissel had an 86 for Chestnut Ridge, which did not have enough golfers for a team score.

TYRONE — Central Cambria topped six other high school teams at a Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference golf match at Sinking Valley Country Club.

Austin Semelsberger’s 79 led the Red Devils, who also got an 85 from Jake Kirsch and finished with a team score of 340.

Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic, led by Nick Helsley’s 82, was runner-up.

R.J. Royer of Tyrone was the medalist with a 78 and helped the Golden Eagles finish third. Kaleb Sweitzer was one stroke back with a 79 for Tyrone.

Luke Repko carded an 84 for Bishop Carroll, which was fourth. Bellwood-Antis got a 79 from Ethan Johnston and was fifth.

Zack Martynuska’s 91 led sixth-place Penn Cambria, and Central — which had its top players at the Bedford Springs Invitational — got a 91 from Cody Clapper.

Cambria Heights’ lone golfer, Ian Nagle, shot an 84.

Mustangs go 1-2

CHERRY TREE — Conemaugh Township defeated Northern Cambria, Portage and Ferndale in a high school golf match at Chetremon Golf Course.

The Indians, led by Sam Sharbaugh’s 37, finished with 217 strokes. Medalist Brady Hauser led the runner-up Colts with a 34, and Trae Kargo carded a 41 for the third-place Mustangs.

Ferndale didn’t have enough golfers for a team score and was forced to forfeit to the three other teams.

CRESSON — The team of Tony Mignogna, Nick Filak, Craig Tremel and Brandon Stephens shot a 53 to win the Dean Rhodes Memorial/Hollidaysburg High School Golden Tiger Wrestling Benefit at the Summit Country Club.

Finishing second at 55 was the team of Rose Storm, Brady Eckenrode, Collin and Kyle Reese. Third-place honors went to the team of Matt Taddy, Joe Aungst, Buck and Gene Harvey at 56.

In other action, Quintin Dziabo and Ron Burgoon teamed up to shoot a 62 to win the Member Appreciation Day Tournament.

Brian Giesler and Mark Delaney were second at 64 while the teams of Collin Reese and Ed Dongell, along with Hop Burgoon and Tanner Perrone tied for third at 65.

The women’s tourney was won by the team of Chrissy Sears, Lauren Graham, Linda Zorger and Jean Dunmyer with a 68.

In other action, Alex Ritenour and Jeff, Josh and Mark Nider won the Camp Sequanota Benefit Golf Outing with a 60 over runners-up Mike Gaunt, Nathan Spory and Matt and Adam Lloyd’s 64.
